Points by Ben Simmons during Game 3 victory over Nets

With either the Warriors or Cavaliers about to end a long championship drought, Eric Fisher wonders how many more years Philly fans will have to wait for one of their teams to contend for a championship.

With B.J. Johnson and Pookie Powell at his disposal, La Salle head coach Dr. John Giannini (pictured) might have the weapons to make a run at postseason success. Eric Fisher also examines the improvement of Villanova’s Mikal Bridges, Penn’s scoring depth and the Saint Joseph’s injury bug.

The Greek God of Wrestling explains how TNA’s financial situation has gone from bad to worse. Achilles Heel also expresses concern that Survivor Series will overshadow Hell in a Cell, tells you when you can see Zack Sabre Jr. in Philadelphia, and tries to keep up with a whirlwind of events in Paige’s life.

Since the early planning stages of my trip, up until 30 minutes before I left the hotel for Scotiabank Place, I was warned about the journey out to the arena in Ottawa. Needless to say, I left with enough time ahead of me to account for traffic and other potential delays. It’s not worth screwing this thing up now over rush hour. (read more)…

Andre’s tweets of note:

About the traffic: Wow. People weren’t kidding about this Ottawa traffic. Very LA’esque.

About the trip winding down: Last stop in Canada today, and I got 7.5 hours sleep last night! 4 more games in 3 nights…tasting it

Just got to “The Bank” here in Ottawa for game 27 of 30. Last Canadian game (also last Canadien game).

About the second Habs takeover of the trip (the first one being in Minnesota): I was warned about this. About 70% Montreal fans here at the moment.

I hope Guinness doesn’t mind I saw two Montreal home games and no Sens game. Ouch!

About the travel fatigue: For the first time all trip, I feel like I could fall asleep in my seat. Also bought 50/50 tix for first time, hope winning will wake me up.

Did not win the 50/50 tonight. Oh well! I’d rather save the luck for the end of this trip

Hockey on the Fly: Day 26-Boston

Posted by Ron Opher On April - 8 - 2011 2 COMMENTS

Andre Delsol’s run at a world record and a personal goal of seeing 30 NHL games in 30 NHL cities in 29 days lands back on the East Coast, for 5 games on the final 4 days of the trip. Wednesday night, it was the first of 3 New York Islanders games against playoff-bound opponents – in Boston. PhillyPhanatics.com covers Hockey on the Fly….

Most memorable meal of the trip just went down in Boston yesterday. After nearly four weeks of arena food and one or two moments where I could have sworn my heart was palpitating, I reluctantly agreed to follow my buddies into Ernesto’s not far from TD Garden, where the Bruins play. I won’t spend too much time talking about it, but will mention this. If you are anywhere near Boston, make a point to stop by Ernesto’s and have a “slice” of the Chicken Rancho pizza. Early contender for the best slice of pizza I’ll ever eat in my lifetime. (read more)…

About the weather: Great day in Boston if someone would just stop the damn wind.
(note to Andre, from one born there: the wind NEVER stops in Boston!)
