Here are 5 things that could go right for the Eagles, thereby improving their chances of repeating as Super Bowl champions.

1. Once he returns to the lineup, Carson Wentz picks up where he left off last season, when he was an MVP candidate with 33 touchdown passes before suffering a season-ending knee injury.

2. The Eagles’ excellent offensive line remains relatively intact, protecting the quarterback and igniting the running game.

3. Fletcher Cox remains healthy and contends for NFL defensive player of the year.

4. The young cornerbacks, including Sidney Jones, develop quickly and don’t become a weak link.

5. Alshon Jeffery gets healthy quickly and Mike Wallace looks much better than he did during the preseason.

Here are 5 things that could go wrong for the Eagles, preventing them from repeating as Super Bowl champions.

1. Carson Wentz isn’t able to regain last season’s form as he tries to return from a devastating knee injury.

2. The offensive line loses continuity as it deals with a series of injuries to center Jason Kelce (left) and tackles Lane Johnson and Jason Peters.

3. Fletcher Cox, the most indispensable player on the defense, has his effectiveness hindered by a series of nagging injuries.

4. The young cornerbacks, including Sidney Jones, are exposed as a weak link.

5. Alshon Jeffery never gets entirely healthy and veteran Mike Wallace remains as invisible as he was during the preseason.
