PhillyPhanatics.com recently caught up with Philadelphia native Josh Colon, who was on MTV’s “Real World-DC” show and will now duke it out with MTV’s “Jersey Shore” guest Jeff Miranda on Saturday Night Dec. 4 at the Casbah Night Club, Trump Taj Mahal, Atlantic City.
The Big Bang Celebrity Wrestling event also features MTV Jersey Shore’s Angelina Pivarnick vs. VH 1′s Kerry Schwartz, Joe Fanesi from Playboy TV’s Foursome vs. CBS’s Amazing Race’s Louie Stravato, Actor Larry Waters vs. ABC’s The Mole’s Paul Grassi, Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen Battle of TV Chefs – Chef Van Hurd vs. Chef Robert Hesse, VH1′s Tool Academy’s Courtney Barcellos vs. Actress/Model Tiffany Lazarczyk — and more.
The event begins promptly at 8:00pm., and is sponsored by Burgawear.com, Steak Em Up, Concordville Nissan and Subaru, Powerball Energy Juice and Sapphire NYC. Click here for ticket information.

(Hear Josh describe what Big Bang Entertainment has in store with Jersey Shore’s Angelina Pivarnick wrestling Kerry Schwartz, winner of VH-1′s Frank the Entertainer in a Basement Affair)
PP: Have you gotten in the ring before in one of these celebrity events?
JC: Not in one of these, but I was a Golden Gloves boxer when I was 16 in Philadelphia. I did that for three years, training with my father, Hector Castro. I didn’t make it through the tournament, and then turned more of my attention to music and acting.
PP: Should Jeff be worried?
JC: Well, he definitely shouldn’t underestimate me – I trained and fought in the ring for 3 years, so even though he has about 10 pounds on me, that shouldn’t matter.
PP: What else is in the works for you?
JC: I am working on promoting Reality TV stars wrestling and pitching a “Reality Gone Wild” type of show to TNA (Total Nonstop Action) iMPACT!
PP: So this trip to Atlantic City is part slugging it out with Jeff Miranda to defend Angelina’s honor, and partly a business trip?
JC: Yeah – everything right now with me is business – since I left Real World, I’m keeping my name out there in the entertainment world.
PP: Any chance this could morph into a tag-team match, or is it strictly one-on-one?
JC: If the situation calls for it, I’m sure none of us have a problem doing it. That would be fun for me – I would love it. We’re trying to make it as fun as it can be. Or maybe it can be another event.
PP: Maybe whoever is on the short end this time will want a rematch?
JC: Yes – could be. You’d have to ask my opponent (laughter).
PP: With all due respect to you and Jeff, do you think most people are heading down to AC to see Angelina and Kerry duke it out?
JC: Well, a catfight is a better draw…I mean, bare-chested guys are OK, but people are probably looking for the girls to give them the entertainment they came out for. We intend to give them their money’s worth and have them out of their seats.
PP: Thanks, Josh
JC: You’re welcome – I’m looking forward to checking out the story on PhillyPhanatics.com, and to putting on a great show on Saturday night!

PhillyPhanatics.com also caught up with Josh Colon’s ring opponent – none other than Jeff Miranda, soon to guest on MTV’s Jersey Shore, thanks to his very brief relationship with Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.
PP: Tell me about Snooki and your upcoming appearance on Jersey Shore
JM: I’d love to, but I can’t.
PP: What can you tell me about how you met Snooki?
JM: I met Snooki down the shore at a local nightclub in Seaside Heights, and we dated for about a month.
PP: And while that was going on, someone who works for Jersey Shore thought it would be a good idea to incorporate you into the show?
JM: I am with Snooki, appearing in two episodes. But I can’t say more – you’ll have to tune in.
PP: You’re good at keeping us in suspense, Jeff…tell me about celebrity wresting – have you done it before?
JM: No – this will be the first time.
(Hear Jeff talk about his upcoming match with Josh Colon)
PP: Tell me about your acting career outside of Jersey Shore.
JM: I’ve done a pilot for Silent Library on MTV. I also make music. My upcoming single – my first – will be produced by Baltimore Club Music, with the help of DJ Top 10 and Pretty Lou – who was an original member of the Lost Boyz.
We’re speaking with Eminem to see if he’ll make a cameo – he’s invited me onto his show on Sirius satellite radio.
We have high expectations of this song – we’re expecting a lot of radio and nightclub play.
PP: When do you go into the studio to record?
JM: We’re lined up for next week – right after I get back from Atlantic City.
PP: Hopefully without a scratch on you.
JM: Exactly. I’m not worried.
PP: What else are you up to?
JM: I’m a partner in a clothing line called “Full Armor.” I like to keep busy (laughter). We’re planning to record in December and release the single as soon after New Year’s as possible, along with a music video.
You can follow me on Twitter @njjeffmiranda
PP: How do you feel about the match between Angelina and Kerry?
(Hear Jeff’s take on who will win the wrestling match between Jersey Shore’s Angelina Pivarnick and Kerry Schwartz, winner of VH-1′s Frank the Entertainer in a Basement Affair)
PP: A girl who climbs into the ring – is that something that moves a girl up the list in terms of someone who you’re interested in?
JM: No, not really. Girls are not fighters, they’re lovers. They should stay out of the ring – those two – they’re better off just looking pretty.
PP: But you’ll be there watching.
JM: Yes I will. It should be interesting.
Angelina got in the ring as a referee of Kerry’s last tussle 6 weeks ago in Massachusetts…now the two of them will battle it out:

The old Spectrum was a classic Professional Wrestling venue back in the 60′s and 70′s. The WWWF (predecessor to today’s WWE) had TONS of matches there-I believe they even broadcast them on local Philly TV the week following an event. The Spectrum rivaled Madison Square Garden as a pro wrestling venue. I never got to see a match in the Spectrum, but I went to the Boston Garden every month with my uncle and little brother to see the WWWF matches (essentially the same plot lines) and we saw some classics.
If you’re into “old school” pro wrestling and you want to see some events from the Spectrum, go to Youtube and search “spectrum wrestling philadelphia.” Lots of good, classic stuff.
